We hired Bryan to retrofit out 1907 American Four Square with the SpacePak system so we could enjoy AC cooling with minimal impact to the original lath and plaster walls and ceilings. Previously, our home with non-insulated walls, original single pane windows, would be 10F+warmer than the outdoor temperature, so even a 70F day living would be pretty uncomfortable. The transformation was remarkable! The house stays an even 70F indoors even on a 95F+ day. There is no sensation of draft in the house, and noise is all but a quiet whisper. How the system is able to cool through such a small number of tiny ceiling outlets and flexible 2” tubing defies the mind and laws of air volume.
Bryan did a remarkable job. He initially specked the system in terms of outlets per room, sizing of air handler and condenser, and all materials required. After delivery of all equipment and parts, he sourced all other materials locally to minimize costs and began the installation process. He was very creative in how to create a return air-duct plenum in a tight angled area of the ceiling and roof by fabricating using custom cut ductboard. He also came up with a brilliant design running and exterior plenum from the attic to the first floor ceiling of the house. Bryan’s craftsmanship is of the highest caliber, plenum work and tubing is beautifully laid out and sealed together, and wires neatly tied down. Bryan is a unique and invaluable to any heat system installation and a delight to have worked with given his easy going and friendly personality.
